Dr. Smith spent her evening with the Boy Scout Troup and leaders to prepare them for Wilderness Medical Emergencies.  This local troup is planning a 3 week kayak trip across the Canadian Rockies with hot air temperatures and cold water and evening temperatures.  The boys and leaders will be soaked most of the day and could experience hypothermia, strains, sprains, allergic reactions, wet foot issues and stings and bites.  They practiced splinting, medicine administration, litter construction and wilderness emergency thought process.  From left pictured are John Kinsley troup leader and one of our local Fire Chiefs, Jake, Dr. Smith from EMA and Keith.  The boys and leaders know Dr. Smith is available for consultation while they are on the trip.
