Jason Adler, M.D., FACEP named Chief Coding and Reimbursement Officer

EMA is proud to announce that Jason Adler, M.D., FACEP, has been named Chief Coding and Reimbursement Officer.

Dr. Adler has been working clinically at the Emergency Department at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center since joining EMA in 2010.  He currently sits on the Sepsis Committee, ACS/STEMI committee, and is the Base Station Medical Director for the ED.  He also serves on the Finance Committee for the central hub of MedStar.

Dr. Adler is a content expert in the subject ofCoding, Billing, and Reimbursement.  In addition to educating providers in the fundamentals of documentation, procedural coding, and critical care, Dr. Adler has assisted our central leadership with audit support, compliance regulations, and up to date CMS measures and initiatives.   He was an invited speaker at the University of Maryland and has co-published on article about ICD-10 in EP Monthly.

Most recently, Dr. Adler was appointed to National ACEP's Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee (CNAC).  He was also appointed to Medicare's Carrier Advisory Committee (CAC) where he represents Emergency Medicine of the Northeast Region.  Dr. Adler is currently serving his second term as a Board Member for Maryland's chapter of ACEP, where he helped create an opiate prescribing policy along with the Director of Maryland's poison center.

Dr. Adler attended The George Washington University for both undergraduate studies and medical school.  He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland in 2010.
