On Thursday, September 24, Emergency Medicine Associates presented the 2nd annual
Doctors Community Hospital Airway Day. We are pleased to announce the event was another
great success this year! It provided a day of education and training to further solidify provider
success in emergency airway management and patient safety.
This year we continued with the hands-on mentality and also expanded on last year’s
successes. Highlights of the day included PG County EMS providing King Airway and
prehospital CPAP education as well as our GlideScope, Cook and EZ-IO representatives for
video laryngoscopy, cricothyrotomy, chest tube and intraosseous catheter education.
Additionally, respiratory therapy joined us for ventilator management and we included a pediatric station in this years event.
Thank you to all who joined us as well as organizers, Dr.’s Puneet Chopra, Michael Buns and
our nursing educator Christine Rawlinson for making this another great event. The day was well received by both emergency and hospital staff as well as additional medical staff from the
departments of Medicine and Critical Care.
