Congratulations to Saad Amin, M.D., who has accepted the position of an Assistant Director of the Emergency Department at Reston Hospital Center.
Dr. Amin has taken on a growing administrative role over his two years at Reston Hospital Center. He started as an I.T. Liason to Reston Hospital Center's I.T. Department and to the Capital Division I.T. leadership and CMIO. In this role he helped design and improve the department's order sets and documentation templates. Early this year, Dr. Amin took on the role as Co-Chair of our Operations Focus Meeting, leading the joint physician-RN off-site operational meetings.
By far Dr. Amin's biggest role has been as the E.D. Liason to Hospital's new trauma program. He has been a key member on the Trauma Steering Committee all year helping to get the E.D. and the hospital ready for today's trauma site survey. He has done a lot of work on equipment evaluation and nurse education for trauma across the year, and was publicly thanked at the opening meeting of the site survey for his hard work across the year.
