"Our Emergency Room Patient Satisfaction is #1 in the MedStar family! This is a direct result of the leadership and direction of Dr. Michael Kerr and Emergency Medicine Associates, along with the collaboration of our MGH nurses and staff. EMA works closely with MGH to ensure that our goals are their goals. For example, getting patients into beds faster, focusing on throughput, and of course, patient satisfaction. EMA’s high standards are in line with our desire to deliver high quality healthcare to our community. EMA understands the importance of the patient experience and has made a dedicated effort to make certain that every patient who visits our Emergency Department is well cared for."

“Civista Medical Center is a proud partner of Emergency Medicine Associates. In 2008, our facility chose EMA to provide Emergency Medicine Services for our hospital. It was a wise choice. In that short time, EMA has become a true business partner. EMA clinicians are key members of our hospital team, and are very visible to those in the local community. The Emergency Department is often the “front door” of a hospital. EMA has ensured our “front door” is welcoming, and ready to help. Focusing on those things that are most important to our patients, EMA clinicians strive to minimize waiting times, while providing efficient, compassionate, and personable patient care. EMA has worked diligently with our hospital staff and administration to ensure that Civista Medical Center is the hospital of choice in Southern Maryland. We are pleased to have EMA as a part of our team.”

When a change was needed in the medical coverage for our Emergency Department, we selected Emergency Medicine Associates. They have been an outstanding success. They provided an exceptional leader as well as well-qualified and highly motivated physicians. Sibley Memorial Hospital has achieved a 99 percentile ranking in Press Ganey patient satisfaction surveys for the Emergency Department. I attribute this success to the work of Emergency Medicine Associates and the nursing staff of Sibley Memorial Hospital. The physicians and nurses work as a team, and the results speak for themselves. We are very pleased with Emergency Medicine Associates, and I highly recommend them to any hospital.

Dr Jillson is Named Carroll Hospital Center’s Physician of the Month

A visit to the Emergency Room is always an anxious time for patients and their families. The uncertainty of the serious illness or injury can be overwhelming for all those involved. But, when a patient receives outstanding care and understanding from their Emergency Physician, it can make a worrisome experience much easier for a patient to handle.  And, thanks to the speedy response of Christopher Jillson, M.D., that was the experience of many patients during an extremely busy shift. A member of the Emergency Department (ED) staff  nominated Dr. Jillson for going "over and above" his normal duties on a day when the ED was experiencing a higher than normal volume of patients.

As always, Dr. Jillson did whatever he could to make sure all the patients were cared for as quickly as possible. He treated them with respect and compassion as he took time to thoroughly explain their care while answering all their questions.  “Dr. Jillson is consistently willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever there is a need, and his efforts to make sure patients receive the proper care they need in as timely a manner as possible are exemplary,”  said Kevin Smothers, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., Chief Medical  Officer, Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs.
